So...12 days after my interview, I was at work (as usual), when I received an alert on my phone saying I had an email. I checked it, and the first thing that popped up was... "Congratulations on your acceptance to AUA College of Medicine...". I immediately started crying. It has been a long time coming. The medical school application process can certainly take a toll on an individual. After not hearing anything good for approximately 9 months, getting accepted into A medical school is very much a blessing. Although it might not be a U.S. Medical school, I believe through hard work and determination (because nothing in life comes easy), AUA will allow me to get where I want to go.
I was thinking about a fortune in a fortune cookie that I received from Panda House. It said, "You will make a name for yourself in medicine." How ironic? No...that's destiny, and my destiny starts now.
I'm happy, my family is happy, my friends are happy for me...I could not have asked for a better support system in my life, especially during this time. My good friend was accepted to University of Connecticut School of Medicine, so now I have 10 more friends to cheer on!
Now...I have to start thinking about the things I will need down there for two years and where to get a personal loan...ahhhh!!....
